Here are some of the topics discussed at last nights’ SFTD board meeting.
Present were Carole, Chris, Bobby, Richard and Jean, with apologies from Paul.
At Caroles’ invitation, we welcomed Chris Cain to the meeting in his new role as Corporate Fundraising Lead for the charity. Chris joined SFTD last year and has already contributed greatly and is active in many ways so we are excited to have him in such a key role.
The main discussion of the meeting centred on the coding process of POM III. Much work has been done to complete a coding gap analysis which has given a clear picture and starting point for the work ahead. Last week at a coding meeting at Douglas Bay Yacht Club, we welcomed Shaun Wainwright from Monument International who has very kindly agreed to be our project manager. Most of the tasks were picked up and/ or allocated last week so at last nights’ board meeting it was great to see how many of these are progressing already. Planned weekly meetings with Shaun will keep us on track! The inspection post- coding work has been booked in Whitehaven for 27th March.
On Monday of this week, Chris, Paul and Cherry attended the Nedgroup Investments annual fundraising bake sale, and for the second year running they chose Sailing for the Disabled as the charity they wished to support. And support us they certainly did, raising £2000 for us through cake sales, a magnificent local produce raffle and generous donations. The board appreciate how much work goes into this type of event and truly grateful to Nedgroup Investments.
