Patricia Wild – Obituary

Sailing for the Disabled are poorer for the passing of one of our staunchest supporters.  Patricia Wild was a marvellous human being, who reached out to touch the lives of many through her work with the Manx Macular Support Group, for which she was President, her work with Sight Matters, participating and advising in their regular meetings, her support of the BLESMA charity which supports Limbless Military Veterans, through which she sponsored visits to the Island, and of course Sailing for the Disabled.  Patricia supported the charity through 18 years of unbroken sponsorship at a material level.  Patricia’s support has meant that our work has been able to continue down the years, and has been a factor in the advancement of the services that we provide to our members.

Patricia took a keen interest in our work, and was able to connect ourselves at SFTD to the BLESMA charity, resulting in many occasions where the disabled veterans were able to join us on the boat to enjoy sailing experiences.  Many of these trips have been committed to archive and can be found on various Facebook and YouTube pages.

Whilst grieving with Patricia’s many friends and family for their loss, we remember Patricia for the legacy that she left in our charity, and the members whose lives she touched.
