We left early in the morning for a fishing spot recommended to us just off Kuummiut, it was a spot favoured by the local fisherman who use small boats and lines to catch their fish. In a couple of hours we caught 5 cod, more than enough to feed the nine of us that night. It was very enjoyable drifting in the light breeze admiring the scenery while watching the others fish using metal lures.
We motored through the day to arrive in the village of Tilerilaaq. This village has a very good natural harbour surrounded by land on three side with a narrow entrance, however it is difficult to get into as there are unmarked rocks both in the entrance and in the bay that make up the harbour. We had to creep in with the mate lying on the bow watching for rocks giving information via the VHF to the skipper. We also had to motor up and down to make sure there were no rocks in the area we proposed to anchor.

The recurring theme in Greenland was eating cod we had just caught. We had cod soup for lunch and barbeque cod for supper. Onboard they had a barbecue and charcoal; this was lit at the back of the cockpit. Both were very good as so fresh.

We had time in the afternoon to explore the village, but it was very similar to all the other villages. One aspect of these villages was that they had very good mobile phone signals I was able to use messaging aps to speak to my wife Rosie and post to my personal and the SFTD Facebook pages. There is no coverage as soon as you are a few miles from a village. I suspect all the internet links to the villages were via satellite as the distances are so great, laying cables would be problematic.
