Your board of directors met last Thursday 3rd September on POM III. Bobby, Chris, Richard and Carole were present with Jean attending via a Teams link. Paul sent his apologies.
Treasurer Jean gave us a finance update and there was a discussion relating to SFTDs banking arrangements and current provisions from our financial advisors. We also talked about a recent donation to the charity ( more about this at the AGM).
Chris was able to give us an update on the coding work, identifying several items which have been achieved since we met last month. The board formally recognises the time, work and effort that Chris has put into the process from the very beginning, and would like to thank him for this, so much appreciated.
The sailing committee report was given by Bobby who has skippered all sails since the programme recommenced- all but one sail (weather) went ahead, conditions have been variable and there is a good uptake by members.
Carole provided feedback from the Fundraising and Engagement committee. We hosted representatives of the Manx Lottery Fund on POM III recently on a beautiful sunny evening last month. The MLF has provided much funding for various projects within SFTD over many years and we are extremely grateful.
Lead fundraiser Chris Cain has made an award application recently to an IOM community fund.
There will be an Open Boat Day on 3rd October and we’re looking forward to welcoming members, friends, supporters- and anyone who is interested in what we do!
We’re organising a pub quiz in November at Douglas Bay Yacht Club that is open to everyone. Details on this website and our Facebook page.
Finally- a reminder that our Annual General Meeting is on Wednesday 30th September at 7.30 at Douglas Bay Yacht Club . Please try to attend- we value your support! If you can’t make it then send in your postal votes.
Carole
