Hello Members!

Here is a summary of last nights’ meeting of your board of Directors which took place face to face and via Microsoft Teams, under Chairman Paul.

As usual treasurer Jean started the meeting with her monthly report of SFTDs finances and general discussions on varied strands of the topic eg investments, the management of personal expenditure on SFTD requirements.

Paul gave us an update on the 100 Club plans and this will be shared with our members soon.

The biggest topic of the night was of course the boats’ return to us after a unexpectedly and unforeseen absence. Boat manager Bobby and Secretary/Crewmaster Chris have been onboard down in the marina making sure everything is ship-shape for her first planned sail on Thursday 1st May.

It was noted by Chris that the sailing programme (now extended) is having a very good uptake – but still plenty of spaces available for some lucky people!

Carole & Richard DG reported that the Fundraising & Engagement Committee are organising an onboard event for Sponsors & members on 17th May to welcome POM III home after her absence. Details will be in a separate post here on the website, and on our socials (Facebook & WhatsApp groups).

SFTD has received kind invitations to attend the Tynwald day garden party at Government House, and a very special dinner organised by our friends at Heroes on the Water. Volunteers have been selected and will be representing our charity at both events.

The website will shortly be adding short biographies of our directors as this is something that some members have requested to see. We are very happy to share this information!

As we are rapidly approaching the busiest time of the year for the island and some of our directors, the next board meeting is planned for 17th June. If members want to discuss anything before this please get in with any board member via the usual WhatsApp chats, emails or messages.
