We left early in the morning, Tillerilaaq is located on the edge of the very big Sermilik Fjord which is far wider and longer fjord than the others we had been in, with a number of glaciers feeding it. It contained a lot of ice including some very large pieces, we crossed this fjord and entered the Johan Petersen fjord.

This is a smaller Fjord with two glaciers at the end, Buckner Glacier and the Kagtilersopia Glacier. We motored slowly up the fjord as it contained a lot of ice, to look at the glaciers at the end, not quite as dramatic as the glacier we had seen a few days earlier but still very beautiful in the sunshine.

Whilst motoring the Skipper Ales was helming and I noticed the chart plotter was just showing a grey screen and no map information although it was showing other information such as boat speed, depth and wind. He explained that there were no electronic charts of the area so that is why the screen was grey. Water depth in the fjord even close to the edges was very deep with the echo sounder showing an error as there was too much water depth, ice may also build up on the transducer at times.
We motored back to Tillerilaaq in the afternoon to enter the bay with the same caution and anchor.
We were treated to Czech chicken curry for supper and in common with all the food on board it was very good.
