Corona virus

As a responsible organisation, we are monitoring developments regarding the spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19), and following any guidance provided that relates to our activities.  In the event that anyone has concerns regarding any of the activities that we undertake either on, or off the boat, please do not hesitate to raise your queries to one of the officers of the charity via any appropriate channel.

It should be noted that the situation is constantly evolving, and that we will continue to review our activities (sailing program, fundraising, meetings, etc) with regard to the latest advice from the authorities (www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public).  We would advise our members and volunteers to monitor and consider any information that they receive, and act accordingly.

Please be aware that the charity (and that includes the officers and skippers) does not have any information or guidance that is not available through other official channels, and any guidance that may be posted on our website, or any other communications that we might provide, should not be taken as ‘absolute’ guidance on the subject matter, and if it contradicts any official notification, then it should be assumed that the official guidance supersedes anything from Sailing for the Disabled.

Membership renewal 2020-2021

It’s that time of the year again when your membership fee is due on the 1st April.  Each year our hardworking volunteer Membership Secretary  spends a considerable amount of time and effort chasing members to pay their subscription.

PLEASE HELP HER AND PAY IN TIME !

The membership fee is still set at a minimum of £10 but you can make any payment above if you want to make a donation to your charity.

If you pay by cash it would be even more helpful if you were to start paying by standing order, this saves you the effort paying each year and also helps the Membership Secretary. That must be a win-win. The standing order form is available here.

The address to send your money, cheque or completed SO form to is: Monica Clark, 42 Wybourn Drive, Onchan,IM3 4AN

Bag Pack results overwelming!

A big thank you to all our wonderful Baggers! You done good!!

Wot a team:- Karen, Peter, Louise, Bob,Anthony, Francesca, Sarah plus Samantha and Rocky, Margaret, Simon, Nicky,Carole, Ann and Cathy. Thank you all for giving your time, and at such short notice!
We had a great day on Saturday and a great result - £699.20 went rattling into the buckets!
Thank you to Karen, Peter, and Louise for taking me and the gubbins up to Shoprite and helping set-up and to Don and Ann for taking the stuff back to the drying room. A big thank you to Stuart for counting the lolly so quickly, and to Cathy for taking Sarah and myself back home at the end of the day.
It was certainly a breezy day and as well as packing, we were also able to help quite a lot of the customers with their loaded trollies back to their cars.

A happy experience, and many shoppers took a  pamphlet. Hopefully we'll get to hear back from some!

Many thanks to Shoprite for allowing us to use their store.

EXTRA BAG PACK AT THE BIG SHOPRITE IN DOUGLAS

We are very pleased to let you know we are invited to do a bag pack in the BIG Shoprite in Douglas. Cancel all skiing trips and Carribean cruises, as lots of Volunteers are needed to help with this extra Bag Pack at the Victoria Road Shoprite, Douglas on Saturday 8th February.

As well as raising funds to keep our fantastic yacht  Pride of Mann III sailing, bag packs also help to raise awareness of the charity.
Please contact Adrienne on 466514 if you could possibly spare an hour or two to help with bag packing or talking to customers and give information about SFTD.
