Disability Awareness Training

We are pleased to announce that our new Disability Awareness Training for our crew members will be ready to be launched next month (April). We need this programme in order to ensure that our disabled members are continually provided with the highest standards of care and safety so they can have the best experiences of sailing on Pride of Man III.

The first attenders will be our salty sea-dogs, our skippers and mates, whose years and nautical miles of experience will contribute very positively to the programme. After this we will be asking our newest crew members and any other crew who feel they would benefit from the training to complete it.

Keep a lookout for further postings on our progress here!

A salute to the organisers of the Special Winter social

What a happy, fun day we all had on Sunday. It was a magnificent tribute to Arne - the best!
That was a lovely sight, to see the tables decked with Spring flowers. The food was fabulous and your organising skills spot on, Gill!
What a clever idea, the Boat building contest - great fun, exciting,  very absorbing, and intriguing to see all  the very different completed boats. And all done in the comfort of our own seats at the tables. A perfect game for one and all. Everyone enjoyed it and all the gubbins that you supplied -fab!
The quiz was a good laugh
In short, a brilliant afternoon, full of fun and happiness, great company scrumptious food and importantly, a truly perfect way to celebrate our Arne. ( I am sure that he was quite overwhelmed, in the best possible way, by it all )
Well done, you two. thank you!!!

'Arnies day' Winter social

The special Winter social was a great success enjoyed by all. You can find all photos of the event in the gallery.

Juliet sent us the following kind words: Thank you very much to everyone who organized the “Arnies day” winter social. We enjoyed a wonderful meal which was followed by the presentation of a painting to Arnie as a token of thanks for many years of service to the SFTD.The afternoons raffle was drawn. Members then excercised their creative skills challenged to produce POM2 or 3 from paper, straws, lollypop sticks, string, tape and glue. Arnie won with his model. Our pleasant afternoon concluded with a general knowledge quiz.
